Bubba Wallace finished eighth in the NASCAR Cup race at Las Vegas after a late-race battle for the win resulted in tire failure. Running behind race leader Chase Briscoe in the final stint, Wallace looked poised to challenge for his first win of the season. The critical moment occurred with 29 laps remaining when Wallace attempted an inside move in Turn 1. Briscoe defended the line, causing Wallace's Toyota to slide up the track. The aggressive maneuver caused Wallace to overwork his front tires, leading to extreme cording issues. Wallace stated that he 'paid the price on our front tires' after trying to catch Briscoe, noting that his car lost performance significantly in the final laps. Though he was set for a top-five finish with three laps to go, he was forced into a 'survival mode' to reach the checkered flag, eventually recording a final lap three seconds slower than his rivals. The result was a difficult conclusion to an impressive comeback that included overcoming a mid-race penalty for equipment interference.
