Elfyn Evans, Britain's first world rally champion in 25 years, received a hero's welcome in his hometown of Dolgellau as fans gathered to celebrate his maiden WRC title. Despite rainy conditions, thousands of supporters lined the closed streets to watch Evans drive his title-winning Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 car. The celebration included a visit to his former school, Ysgol Bro Idris, and a final appearance in the town center, where he was greeted by fans and a local choir. Evans secured the world title alongside co-driver Scott Martin following a dramatic season finale in Sardinia, where rival Oliver Solberg crashed two corners from the finish line. Welsh First Minister Rhun ap Iorwerth attended the event, praising Evans for his consistency and quality. Evans, who is the third British driver to win the title, described the public support as "surreal."
