After the November 1 Malaysian GP, Jack Miller said 19 of 22 MotoGP riders do not want to race in Qatar on November 6–8. His claim does not amount to a confirmed withdrawal by all 19. Organisers still plan to stage the event, while Yamaha has formally withdrawn.
Alex Marquez confirmed on 1 November that he will skip the Qatar MotoGP round on 6–8 November for surgery in Madrid, a day after which he hopes to start recovering towards a Portimao return.
Yamaha will not field its factory and Pramac MotoGP bikes in Qatar on 6–8 November, citing company-wide travel restrictions. Organisers insist the race will go ahead; FIM may assess sporting consequences.
Marc Márquez won the 20-lap Malaysian MotoGP Grand Prix at Sepang on 1 November 2026, ahead of Pedro Acosta and Álex Márquez. His points advantage over injured rival Jorge Martín increased to 44.
Pedro Acosta won the 10-lap Sepang MotoGP Sprint on 31 October, beating Marc Marquez by 0.578 seconds. Pole-sitter Alex Marquez crashed while leading and the championship gap rose to 19 points.
Alex Marquez's 1:56.493 lap earned Sepang MotoGP pole 0.070s ahead of Marc. Acosta qualified third; injured Jorge Martin withdrew.
Marc Marquez recovered from a crash to top Sepang's qualifying-deciding Friday Practice in 1:57.000. Alex was second, Ogura third; Bagnaia missed Q2 and injured Martin cut his run short.
